NF Track
Track season is upon us. Track is going pretty good. Coach thinks we're out of shape so we as a team are striving to get in shape for this coming track meet on Monday (April 11th). It will be held in Kingsley Pierson. I feel pretty confident about how our team will do. I have this confidence because we have a couple state qualifiers and school record holders running this year. We have excellent runners in most of the events. We also have a pretty good field team. Field events are as follows: shot put, discus, long jump, and high jump. Track meets usually start with the 3200 meter run. Then comes the shuttle hurdle. Next there are a bunch of sprints, and finally the meet ends with the four by four hundred meter dash. We only really have 1 long distance runner, but I think we will do great as a team.

Basketball Update
We are currently nearing the end of our wonderful basketball team's regular season. In my opinion the hardest part of this season has been the fact that, up to this day, we have only won one basketball game. We practice hard every day we have practice. We play hard every game. Things just haven't come together this season. We have lost multiple games by less then 5 points.

Basketball
Our current basketball season is underway. Our varsity record doesn't represent the work and effort our players put in. Our varsity has on only 1 game while our jv has lost only 2 games. The team has a lot of passion for the sport. We should be ready to go for the state tournament. I believe we will have everything put together by then for a legitimate run at a state championship.

History of Football
American Football is a variation of rugby games from the U.K.The origin of professional football can be most directly linked back to 1892. In 1892 the first contract to play a professional football game was offered to William Heffelfinger. The first league of football was the Ohio League. The first championship game was held in 1919. The American Professional Football Association was created in 1920. 2 years after its creation, the American Professional Football Association changed its name to the National Football League. Later, the American Football League was formed. These two leagues then joined together. After joining, the ultimate game of professional football was created: The Super Bowl. The Super Bowl has become the most viewed TV event. It is usually shown on multiple TV channels.

We are currently lifting Monday through Thursday for non-basketball kids. Basketball kids only have to lift 2 days a week. They can choose whatever days they want to lift. Next week we will be lifting at 6:30 on Monday and Tuesday. We will come back and lift on the Wednesday and Thursday after Christmas Break is over. Football is now only 8 months away so everyone should be looking forward to another great year of mustang football. Everyone have a safe and fun Christmas Break!

Football Information
Mustang weight lifting program starts again on Monday. SAQ programs will begin again in January. One of my favorite memories from this past football season would of been beating West-Bend Mallard for the first time in school history in the first round of the 8-Man playoffs. Also a congratulations goes out to the Armstrong-Ringstead Mustangs on being the 8-Man Champions.

Week 1-3 Scores
Newell-Fonda began their season with a bang beating Ruthven-Ayrshire 53-7. The Mustangs then followed up with a tough earned with over Glidden-Ralston 46-40 in three over times. Unfortunately the Mustangs earned their first and only loss of the regular season against a tough Remsen Union in week 3 by a final score of 23-47.
